Holding(s) in Company

Tate & Lyle PLC ('the Company') was informed on 14 October 2005 that Deutsche
Bank AG and its subsidiary companies no longer have a notifiable interest in the
Company's ordinary share capital.

Deutsche Bank AG had previously reported holding 19,466,744 ordinary shares in
the Company as at 25 July 2005 in which they had a notifiable interest which was
then 3.99 per cent of the ordinary share capital.
