Tate & Lyle PLC (the “Companyâ€) was notified on 6 March 2009 of the attached changes (effective 4 March 2009) following the assumption of the role of investment adviser by Harbinger Capital Partners LLC from Harbert Fund Advisors, Inc. in respect of Harbinger Capital Partners Master Fund I, Ltd and Harbinger Capital Partners Special Situations Fund, L.P, both of which hold shares in Tate & Lyle PLC. As at 4 March 2009, Harbinger Capital Partners Master Fund I, Ltd and Harbinger Capital Partners Special Situations Fund, L.P. remained interested in 60,037,554 ordinary shares of the Company, being 13.09% of the Company’s voting rights.
