its subsidiaries now hold 24,124,599 ordinary shares in Tate & Lyle
PLC which is a notifiable interest under Section 199 of the Companies
Act 1985, being 5.00 per cent. of the nominal value of the relevant
share capital, increased from their holding on 6 December 2002 of
19,369,996 ordinary shares which was then 4.02% of the nominal value
of the relevant share capital.
