Retirement of Rosemary Thorne as an independent Director

Smurfit Kappa Group plc (“SKG” or the “Group”), one of the world’s largest manufacturers of paper-based packaging products, with operations in Europe and the Americas, announces the retirement of Rosemary Thorne as an independent, non-executive Director.

Ms Rosemary Thorne, non-executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee has informed the Board that she will not seek re-election at the Group’s AGM to be held on 4 May 2018 and will retire from the Board with effect from that date.

Liam O’ Mahony, Smurfit Kappa Group Chairman, commented:

“On behalf of the Board, I would like to extend our sincere appreciation for the substantial contribution of Rosemary who has been a valued member of the Board and the Chairman of the Audit Committee since 2008. We wish her well for the future.”
