RETIREMENT OF DIRECTOR

London: 3 June 2010 - Mercator Gold plc (“Mercator” or “the Company”) announces that Mr Nicholas Allen, who has been a Non-Executive Director of the Company since 7 April 2004, has retired from the board for personal reasons. The retirement becomes effective on 31 May 2010.

Patrick Harford commented:

“Nick has been a key member of the Board and has provided valuable support to the Directors and Management of the Company since his appointment, and especially during the very difficult time of 2008-2009. He has helped greatly in the transformation of the Company from junior explorer to producing gold miner and now to the diversified mineral development company. The Board wishes him the very best in the future.

He has my personal thanks for his contribution, as well as I am sure all shareholders. His counsel and enthusiasm will be much missed.”
