Centrica acquires B2B telecoms specialist

Centrica plc today announced that its telecommunications arm, Onetel, has
acquired REDNET Limited, an internet service provider (ISP) focused on the small
and medium sized business sector, for £5 million in cash.

Whilst Onetel is well established in the voice market, REDNET adds capability in
data services by offering end-to-end internet solutions through products and
services such as web hosting, virtual private networks and web security. This
will allow Onetel to compete for higher value business customers.
