TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 21 December 2011 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

16,463 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 246.00 pence per share
5,653 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 293.00 pence per share
12,342 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 161.77 pence per share
2,761 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 152.85 pence per share

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 5,387,392 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 496,688,614 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
