TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 2 June 2009 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

2,458 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 110.82 pence per share;

12,561 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 152.85 pence per share;

10,284 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 161.77 pence per share; and

11,305 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 293.00 pence per share;

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 8,129,015 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 470,444,424 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
