TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 28 May 2009 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

10,647 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 110.82 pence per share;
2,553 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 146.49 pence per share; and2,553 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 146.49 pence per share; and
11,906 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 152.85 pence per share; 11,906 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 152.85 pence per share;

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 8,165,623 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 470,407,816 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
