                           TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc ('Amlin') announces that on 11 November 2008 it transferred from
treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following
numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each ('ordinary shares'):

53,119 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 152.85 pence per share; and

52,211 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 161.77 pence per share.

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of
9,778,556 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 468,794,883 ordinary shares
in issue (excluding treasury shares).
