TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARESTRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 4 August 2009 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

14,629 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 134.11 pence per share

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 8,023,247 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 494,052,759 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
