TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

Amlin plc (“Amlin”) announces that on 9 December 2008 it transferred from treasury to participants in its employee share option scheme(s), the following numbers of its ordinary shares of 28.125 pence each (“ordinary shares”):

13,657 ordinary shares at an exercise price of 146.49 pence per share

Following the above transfer of shares out of treasury, Amlin holds a total of 8,825,904 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 469,747,535 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
