UPDATE ON ISSUED SHARE CAPITAL

Following issues of shares resulting from the Scrip Dividend Alternative (as
previously announced, an issue of 3,070,054 shares on 24 May 2005) and recent
exercises of share options, the issued share capital of Amlin plc, as at 26 May
2005, was 400,450,440 Ordinary Shares of 25p each. The shares issued in respect
of share options are included within current block listings granted by the UK
Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange.
