                            UPDATE - USA Activities

The Directors of Virotec International Ltd ('Virotec') (ASX/AIM:VTI) provide the
following update to shareholders on some of its activities in the USA.

Appointment of Chief Executive Officer for North America

Mr Neil Bardach has been appointed to the newly created position of CEO of
Virotec USA Inc, responsible for all of Virotec's North American operations.
Neil was appointed as a non-executive director of Virotec in 2003 and has been
instrumental in the commercial acceptance of Virotec's technologies in the
crucial North American market. This appointment is considered by the Board to be
an important step forward in the Company's planned expansion of its
infrastructure to support a significant marketing and sales drive in North
America.

Mr Bardach is a Certified Public Accountant and has significant experience at
executive and Board level with NYSE and NASDAQ listed entities, particularly in
the chemical and product manufacturing sector. He is a Bachelor of Arts in
Accounting, has an MBA and is currently a member of Virotec's audit committee
and remuneration committee. On completion of Virotec's financial statements for
the 2005 year in late September, he will resign as a director of Virotec
International Ltd, and as a member of the audit committee and remuneration
committee, to concentrate on his role as CEO North America.

Update on I-99 Project, Pennsylvania

Further to our announcement of 2 June 2005 on the Interstate 99 Project in
Pennsylvania, the final approval from the regulatory authorities for the pilot
project to commence was received later than expected on 15 August 2005. Virotec
commenced the pilot project testing on this date, and the work is progressing as
expected. At this stage, it is expected that the pilot project will be completed
by mid November 2005, with the results announced shortly thereafter.
