PHILIPS AND AGILENT TECHNOLOGIES RECEIVE HART-SCOTT-RODINO REQUEST FOR

Royal Philips Electronics (AEX: PHI, NYSE: PHG) and Agilent Technologies, Inc.
(NYSE: A) announced that a second request for information has been received from
the Department of Justice in connection with the pending acquisition by Philips
of Agilent's Healthcare Solutions Group.
The U.S. second request has the effect of extending the waiting period under the
Hart-Scott-Rodino Act until 30 calender days after both parties comply with the
