Outokumpu appoints Pii Kotilainen Executive Vic...

Ms Pii Kotilainen has been appointed Executive Vice President - Human
Resources and member of the Group Executive Committee as of March 1,
2009. She joins Outokumpu on January 1, 2009 and reports to CEO Juha
Rantanen. Ms Kotilainen succeeds Timo Vuorio who will retire at the
end of April 2009.

Pii Kotilainen is a Finnish citizen, born 1960 and holds a Master of
Science in Economics from Helsinki School of Economics and Business
Administration. Her latest position was Senior Vice President, Group
Human Resources in Huhtamaki Oyj. Before that she has held various
strategic global HR roles within Nokia Group.

March 1 to April 30, 2009 and act as Senior Advisor for Outokumpu's
HR Function ensuring a successful handover of duties to Pii
Kotilainen.
