Enhancement of Sierra Rutile Limited Senior Management Team

17 May 2011: Sierra Rutile Limited ("SRL") is pleased to announce two significant additions to its senior management team; a new Chief Operating Officer and a new Operations Manager.

Andrew Taylor joins SRL as Chief Operating Officer after a career of over 20 years with DeBeers and Anglo American in a variety of roles covering all areas of mining and processing.  Andrew brings significant experience of operating in Africa, including managing the construction and commissioning of the Voorspoed Mine in South Africa from 2005 to 2010.  Andrew will report to the Board.

Desmond Williams joins as Operations Manager, having spent 10 years based in Canada working for SNC Lavelin and Worley Parsons.  Desmond, a Sierra Leonean national, spent 10 years with Sierra Rutile between 1988 and 1998 at the beginning of his career.  At SNC Lavelin, Desmond held senior management positions on numerous international projects, including the Bald Mountain Gold Project for Barrick Gold Corporation and the Kabanga Nickel Project.

The arrival of Andrew and Desmond has allowed the reassignment of two highly experienced members of SRL's team to new roles.  Sahr Wonday will take the role of Director of Strategic Projects and will be responsible for managing the expansion studies announced on 11 May 2011.  Mark Button will become Director of Mineral Resource Development, focused on the long-term development of SRL's world-class resources and the optimal utilisation of SRL's reserves.

Commenting on the announcement, John Sisay, Chief Executive Officer said:

"I would like to welcome Andrew and Desmond to SRL and congratulate Mark and Sahr on their new roles.  With these appointments, we now have the core operational team in place to complete the turnaround of SRL's existing operations and implement the expansions necessary to allow SRL to achieve its true potential."
