The following replaces the Holdings in Company announcement released on the 16
June 2004 at 10:15, under RNS number 8135Z.

In Section 12, the total holding should read "35,633,848 WITH INTEREST IN
FURTHER 33,000,000" and not "68,633,848" as previously stated.

In Section 13, the Total Percentage holding should read "11.04% WITH INTEREST IN
FURTHER 10.22%", and not "21.26%".

Section 14 now contains an explanation of these changes.

This notification relates to a sale by
Aberforth Partners of 11,562,905 shares in
Paladin Resources on behalf of funds under
its management.. As a limited partner in
one of the Aberforth funds, Caledonia
Investments plc is deemed, pursuant to the
Companies Act 1985, to be interested in
shares held by the fund and therefore in
the aforementioned Paladin shares sold.
Following the sale, Caledonia has an
unchanged direct beneficial holding of
35,633,848 Paladin shares (11.04%) and is
deemed to be interested in a further
33,000,000 shares (10.22%) held by
Aberforth funds.

The Cayzer Trust Company Limited, a
substantial shareholder in Caledonia, is
also deemed under the Companies Act 1985 to
be interested in the Paladin shares in
which Caledonia has an interest.
