                Viglen strengthens grip on Education Market
         with another University consortium purchasing contract
         - also wins University of the Highlands and Islands project

Viglen Technology plc ('Viglen'), today strengthened its position in the UK
higher education market when it announced two new contract wins, one with the
Midlands Universities Purchasing Consortium ('MUPC') and the other with the
University of the Highlands and Islands project ('UHI'), both for the supply
of personal computer('PC') equipment.

Alan Sugar, Chairman of Viglen, comments: ' The agreement with the MUPC, which
follows on very closely from Viglen winning a national contract with the
Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium for the maintenance of PCs and
peripherals, further establishes our position as the Pre-eminent PC supplier
in the higher education market. We believe that with these latest wins Viglen
is now in the unique position of being the only PC supplier to have an
agreement with every single university PC purchasing consortia in the UK. We
have also announced today a major PC contract with the UHI.'

Under the terms of the agreement with the MUPC, Viglen will supply PCs to
member institutions of both the MUPC and the North West Purchasing Consortium.
the contract has a fixed term of two years with an option to be extended by a
further two years. Viglen is one of the selected companies to be awarded a
supply contract by the MUPC.

Under the terms of the agreement with the UHI project, Viglen has been
selected as supplier of choice, to meet UHI's PC requirements across its
multi-site campus. In a contract worth up to £1.2 million of revenue over a
period of two years, Viglen will supply PCs to the UHI's network of thirteen
Colleges and Research Institutions, an Associate Institute and a growing
number of community-based Learning Centres.
