CAA PUBLISHES DOCUMENT ON REGULATORY TREATMENT OF INITIAL EXPENDITURE ON NEW
The Civil Aviation Authority has published today its decision on the treatment
of preliminary spending on an additional runway at Stansted in setting the price
cap on airport charges at future regulatory reviews, which will apply from 2008
onwards. This confirms the basis for the technical adjustment to the regulatory
asset base for Stansted on which the CAA consulted in June 2004.
It honours a commitment made in February 2003 at the last review. Preliminary
spending relates to spending made in the current charge control period, which
runs to 31 March 2008.
