ANNOVA Systems GmbH wins circa €2.5m German Newsroom Contract

SCISYS PLC ("SCISYS"), the supplier of bespoke software systems, IT-based solutions and support services to the Media & Broadcast, Space, Government, Defence and Commercial sectors, is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, ANNOVA Systems GmbH ("ANNOVA"), has signed a contract for circa €2.5m with a major public German broadcaster.  This project involves a complete renewal of its existing editorial newsroom systems.

Following a thorough evaluation process, this customer has decided on ANNOVA's proprietary OpenMedia product as its next-generation editorial newsroom solution, replacing  a competitor's incumbent installation. Once fully rolled out, up to 1,000 of the broadcaster's journalists across TV, radio and online will use OpenMedia as their central tool for planning and crafting news programmes.

Commencing in September 2017, this initial contract is expected to be delivered by the end of 2018 and further underpins our current market guidance.

Klaus Heidrich, Chief Executive Officer of SCISYS, commented:

"We are delighted with this contract win achieved by the ANNOVA management and team, particularly as it extends their already large German customer base into an organisation that has been a customer of the SCISYS Media & Broadcast division for decades.

"We believe also this customer will benefit from SCISYS' strengthened position in the Media & Broadcast Technology sector.  This contract win further demonstrates the prospective synergies we anticipate now that ANNOVA has joined the SCISYS family."

Michael Schüller, Chief Executive Officer of ANNOVA, added:

"For ANNOVA this is a particularly exciting contract win, not only because it allows us to work with a fantastic new and innovative customer, but also because it underscores  that our state-of-the-art product development  aligns neatly with current market trends.

"We will deliver a variety of highly innovative cross-media workflows and provide ground-breaking, tight integration with broadcast critical systems, including SCISYS' own dira! product.

"With our OpenMedia product we have again won a major enterprise client and we look forward to building a long-term and successful relationship with this customer and their team."
