Final Exercise of Subscription Shares

Perpetual Income & Growth Investment Trust plc (the `Company')

Final Exercise of Subscription Shares

5 September 2013

Perpetual Income & Growth Investment Trust plc (the "Company") announces that,
in connection with the final exercise of the Company's subscription shares (the
"Subscription Shares"), 9,408,914 Subscription Shares were exercised by
holders. In accordance with the terms of the Subscription Shares, a trustee was
appointed following the final subscription date of 31 August 2013 to determine
whether to exercise the remaining 3,505,823 unexercised Subscription Shares.
The trustee determined to exercise them and the resulting Ordinary Shares have
been placed with investors at a premium to the exercise price and associated
costs. Accordingly, in aggregate 12,914,737 new Ordinary Shares of the Company
have been allotted. The new Ordinary Shares will rank pari passu with the
existing Ordinary Shares.

Application has been made for the new Ordinary Shares to be admitted to the
premium segment of the Official List and to trading on the Main Market of the
London Stock Exchange ("Admission"). It is expected that dealings in the new
Ordinary Shares will commence at 8.00 a.m. on 10 September 2013.

As there are no longer any Subscription Shares in issue, the Company has
requested that the UK Listing Authority cancels the listing of the Subscription
Shares at 8.00 a.m. on 4 October 2013.

Immediately following the Admission the Company will have 232,564,296 Ordinary
shares in issue.

Accordingly, 232,564,296 Ordinary Shares may be used by shareholders as the
denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are
required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in,
Perpetual Income and Growth Investment Trust plc, under the FCA's Disclosure
and Transparency Rules.
