                         RE: POSSIBLE NEW APPOINTMENT

The Board of Tottenham Hotspur plc announces that, following the consent of
Southampton Football Club, it confirms that discussions are taking place with
Glenn Hoddle to become the football manager of Tottenham Hotspur Football
Club. A further announcement will be made when appropriate.
