               Appointment of Glenn Hoddle as Football Manager

                and John Gorman as Assistant Football Manager

The Board of Tottenham Hotspur plc announces that Glenn Hoddle has been
appointed as football manager and John Gorman as assistant football manager of
Tottenham Hotspur Football Club both under 5 year contracts. The appointments
take effect as of 2 April, 2001 and remain subject to the completion of
certain legal formalities with Southampton Football Club.


Commenting on the appointment, Daniel Levy, non-executive chairman of
Tottenham Hotspur plc, said:


'We have acted swiftly to bring in a great management team with a proven track
record and a Tottenham heritage.'
