Solid State plc (AIM: SOLI), the specialist value added component supplier and design-in manufacturer of computing, power, and communications products is pleased to confirm the appointment of John Macmichael to the post of Chief Executive Officer on a permanent basis with immediate effect.  Jon Baxter has been appointed to the post of Managing Director of Solsta, to assume responsibility for the Group's Components division.

Commenting on this appointment, Nigel Rogers, Chairman of the Board, said:

"John accepted the appointment as Interim CEO last November in unexpected circumstances and provided immediate stability and confidence to the Company and its stakeholders. Since then, he has shown great leadership to the senior team, and has embraced the development and implementation of Group strategy.  We are pleased to confirm his appointment on a permanent basis and look forward to his ongoing contribution."
