Safestay plc
("Safestay", the "Company" or the "Group")
Chief Operating Officer Succession
Safestay (AIM: SSTY), one of Europe's largest hostel groups, is pleased to announce the appointment of Davide Caschili to the Board of Directors of the Company (the "Board") as Chief Operating Officer with effect from 10 June 2026. Davide Caschili will succeed Peter Zielke in the role on that date. Peter will step down from his executive responsibilities at that time but will remain on the Board for a period to support an orderly transition, following which his ongoing role, if any, will be considered by the Board.
Davide Caschili has more than 25 years of hospitality experience, with a strong track record in hostel and hybrid hospitality operations across the UK, Italy and the US. He has held several senior operational leadership roles, most recently as Head of Operations UK & Ireland at Edyn Group and previously at Generator and Freehand Hotels, where he oversaw multi-site portfolios, led refurbishments and openings, and drove improvements in profitability, guest experience and operational performance.
Further information in accordance with paragraph (g) of Schedule Two of the AIM Rules for Companies on Davide Caschili is set out at the end of this announcement.
Larry Lipman, Chairman of Safestay, said:
"We are pleased to be welcoming Davide to the Board as Safestay's new Chief Operating Officer. His extensive experience within the hospitality sector - including within the hostel market - and track record of delivering operational excellence will be invaluable as we execute against our long-term growth strategy.
"I would like to thank Peter for his commitment and significant contributions to Safestay over the last three years. He has played an important role in delivering several key operational developments for the Group, including establishing our first franchise operations and developing our operational centre of excellence in Warsaw. We are pleased that he has agreed to remain on the Board for a period to support an orderly transition."
Davide Caschili, incoming Chief Operating Officer, said:
"I am delighted to be joining Safestay at this important stage in its development. With its strong and trusted brand, clear value-led proposition, and an excellent portfolio of well-located hostels, the business has exciting growth potential. I look forward to joining the business and working with the rest of the team to deliver a consistently excellent customer experience that underpins sustainable growth and shareholder value creation."
