The board are delighted to announce the appointment of James Dean as a non-executive director of the Company and of its main subsidiary, Rathbone Investment Management Limited with effect from 1 November 2013.

Before pursuing a plural career, James worked in a variety of roles at Ernst and Young over a 14 year period including Managing Partner for the UK Financial Services Audit Practice, a position he held for four years. In addition to his roles at Ernst and Young James has served on boards outside the firm, including as Chairman of the ICAEW Insurance Committee. He has strong connections with the International Accounting Standards Board and is recognised globally as an expert in insurance accounting. He is currently a non-executive director of Liverpool Victoria Friendly Society.

No other information is required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13.
