Hindlip 7.5 MW FlexGen Asset Successful Completion of Construction
London, UK - Quantum Data Energy PLC (LSE: QDE) is pleased to announce, further to its previous RNS announcement dated 18 March 2026, that its Hindlip 7.5 MW flexible generation power project ("Hindlip"), which is fully funded in partnership with Powertree as previously announced, has successfully completed construction, commissioning, and achieved grid energisation. The project has been delivered below budget, and commercial operations are imminent.
Key highlights and details of the project's completion are provided below.
Hindlip Key Highlights:
QDE is pleased to confirm that all construction and commissioning milestones at Hindlip have now been successfully completed. The high-voltage grid connection was energised on 15 July 2026, G99 grid compliance testing was completed on 22 July 2026, commissioning of all three gensets is complete, and all gensets have since passed their performance testing, together with grid constraint testing. The site is mechanically and electrically complete and ready to enter commercial operations.
The project has been delivered within its approved capex budget of £5 million, with a final forecast spend of approximately £4.63 million, representing a favourable saving of approximately £370,000 due to efficient cost control.
Key progress since the last announcement is as follows:
· Grid connection energised - The high-voltage connection to National Grid Electricity Distribution ("NGED") was energised on 15 July 2026, notwithstanding the difficult ground conditions encountered by NGED during its cable installation works, which were resolved through the deployment of additional night-time and weekend working;
· G99 grid compliance achieved - G99 testing was completed on 22 July 2026, confirming the asset's compliance with the Distribution Code and its technical eligibility to export to the grid;
· Genset commissioning complete - Commissioning of all three Rolls-Royce MTU gensets has been completed and all gensets have passed their performance testing. Grid constraint testing has also been completed, and the site is now ready to enter commercial operations;
· Civil works complete - All civil engineering works on site are complete;
· Electrical installation complete - The full on-site electrical installation, including HV and LV cabling, terminations, earthing, and small power and control, is complete, with electrical testing and power-on achieved on 15 July 2026;
· Gas installation complete - All on-site and off-site gas works are complete, with the gas metering skid commissioned and gas supplied to the gensets;
· Site infrastructure complete - The control room is in place and fully fitted out, the CCTV system is complete and operational, and the oil storage tanks are installed on site; and
· Project risk register closed - All items on the project risk register have been closed out, including the NGED cable installation risk, with no open risks remaining at the date of this announcement.

4. Completed control room and switchroom buildings
Programme and Next Steps:
With energisation, G99 compliance, genset commissioning and performance testing all achieved, the site is ready to enter commercial operations. The remaining step is finalisation of the operations and maintenance ("O&M") arrangements for the site, following which the gensets will be formally signed off and the asset will commence commercial operations, which is expected shortly. The Company expects that Hindlip remains on track for commercial operations during Q3 2026, in line with the timeline set out in the previous announcement. The remaining timeline is as follows:
· Finalisation of O&M arrangements and formal genset sign-off: early September 2026;
· Final snagging and handover: September 2026; and
· Commercial operations: Q3 2026.
Pieter Krügel, CEO of Quantum Data Energy PLC, said: "We are delighted that construction and commissioning have been successfully completed at our Hindlip project, and ready for commercial operations. The project has been delivered in line with the latest timeline set out in our March announcement, below budget, and every item on the project risk register has been closed out. We would like to thank everyone involved in successfully delivering this project, especially the teams on site, Powertree as our funding partner, and NGED. Upon commencement of commercial operations, Hindlip will become our second operational flexible generation asset. The project represents a further step in implementing our strategy to build a portfolio of 300+ MW of flexible generation assets."
