Annual General Meeting Chairman's Statement 6th June 2018
At the AGM, Jeremy Sinclair, Chairman of M&C Saatchi PLC, will make the following statement:
"2018 has started well and trading is in line with expectations.
We continue with the strategy of starting New Businesses and winning New Business.
Here is the 2018 story so far:
We opened our 29th office - in Jakarta in January.
In the same month, we launched Majority in LA, an all women roster of established and ascending directors.
We are taking Re our brand consultancy to Shanghai.
We are taking Clear, our marketing strategy company, to Frankfurt.
We are looking at expanding the advertising network to Hong Kong.
We bought 51% of Scarecrow in Mumbai, an 8-year-old, outstanding creative agency.
In terms of New Business, group companies have made a good start:
Our South African offices won Lexus, Marriott and Automark, the second-hand car retailer.
In the UK, our ad agency won Legal & General. Our Sport & Entertainment division won Heineken and Powerade.
Our Australian office won Dan Murphy's.
Whilst in France, our office won Chaumet and the Champagne Syndicate.
And our Malaysian office won CIMB and retained Axiata.
All of this gives the Board confidence of another successful year for the company."
