Notification of Major Interests in Shares

Phytopharm PLC received a notification today from Standard Life Investments
Limited, informing them that following a purchase of 179,959 ordinary shares,
they now have a material interest of 1,937,970 shares, representing 5.083% of
the Company's issued Ordinary Share Capital.

The Shares are registered in the name of Stanlife Nominees Limited.
