Irish Continental Group plc ("ICG" or the "Company")

Transaction in Own Shares

Irish Continental Group plc announces that it has made a purchase of its own shares on the market as follows:

Date of Transaction: 18 June 2012.

Number of Shares: 700,000 (seven hundred thousand) ICG Units representing 2.8% of the previously issued shares.

Price: €14.50 per unit.

These shares will be cancelled.

Following cancellation of the above shares, total shares in issue carrying voting rights will be 24,194,208 ICG Units.
