Allocation of Shares

On 16 July 1999, the Board of Hiscox plc allotted 50,364 ordinary shares
of  5p  each at a price of £1.15 each, following the exercise of options
under  the Hiscox Holdings Unapproved Share Option Scheme.  These shares
will rank pari passu with the existing class of ordinary 5p shares.
