On 16 December 2005, the Company announced that it had received a notification
from The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc ('Goldman Sachs'), advising that Goldman
Sachs no longer held a notifiable interest in the ordinary shares of 29 3/43p 
each in this Company. In a notification, dated and received on 19 December, 
Goldman Sachs have indicated that their earlier notification had been issued in 
error and that Goldman Sachs continues to hold 4.01% of the issued ordinary 
share capital of GUS excluding treasury shares.
