GoldStone Resources Limited (AIM: GRL) is pleased to announce the appointment of two independent non-executive directors to its Board of directors, Mr Richard Kofi Amegashie and Mr Michael Jones with immediate effect.

 

Kofi Amegashie

 

Kofi has a 30 year international business background, having worked across a broad range of industries, including Energy, Pharmaceuticals, Financial Services, Development Finance, and Consulting, specialising in Strategic Development, Supply Chain Management, Supplier Development, Consumer Marketing, Commercial Leadership and Operations Management. He has a track record of executing strategic initiatives, operational transformations, complex project delivery, business case development and people development. Kofi has experience working with a number of blue chip multinational companies, including Chevron, Shell, Coca-Cola, Alexander Forbes, Adcock Ingram, Hikma, PATH, the IFC and the World Bank.

 

Since 2021, Kofi has been a lecturer in Strategic and International Business Management at Coventry Business School, where he has run MBA Apprenticeship programs and Hertfordshire Business School teaching on the MSc International Management.

 

Kofi is a Sloan Fellow with a Master of Science in Management from London Business School, a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science (Chemical Engineering) from the University of Exeter, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Air Transport Planning & Management from the University of Westminster.

 

Michael Jones

 

Michael brings significant cross-functional executive experience across the mining sector, gained through senior roles in mine management, the corporate finance industry, corporate executive management, and, more recently, management consulting. Michael is a Professional Mining Engineer who held various mine management roles for 13 years working at Gencor, De Beers, Debswana and as Consulting Mining Engineer for Iscor. Following this, he joined Canaccord Capital, initially as a Mining Analyst, then as an international corporate finance professional before becoming Head of Research and ultimately Global Co-Head of Mining Investment Banking, during this period he was a member of the FTSE Gold Index committee.

 

Following Canaccord, Michael joined African Minerals Limited as Head of Business Development and Investor Relations, and then acted as an Executive at Timis Mining Corporation, and latterly moving into mining management consulting with Hatch Associates Ltd as head of Investment and Business Planning for the AEM region.

 

Michael is a Mining Engineer, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from Imperial College's Royal School of Mines, and also has a Masters in Business Leadership from the University of South Africa. He is a Chartered Engineer (UK) and a member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IMMM).

About GoldStone Resources Limited

GoldStone Resources Limited (AIM: GRL) is an AIM quoted mining and development company with projects in Ghana that range from grassroots exploration to production.

 

The Company is focused on developing the Akrokeri-Homase project in south-western Ghana, which hosts a JORC Code compliant 602,000oz gold resource at an average grade of 1.77 g/t.  The existing resource is confined to a 4km zone of the Homase Trend, including Homase North, Homase Pit and Homase South.

 

The project hosts two former mines, the Akrokeri Ashanti Mine Ltd, which produced 75,000 oz gold at 24 g/t recovered grade in the early 1900s, and the Homase Pit which AngloGold Ashanti developed in 2002/03 producing 52,000 oz gold at 2.5 g/t recovered.  Production is currently focussed on the Homase Mine however it is the Company's intention to build a portfolio of high-quality gold projects in Ghana, with a particular focus on the highly prospective Ashanti Gold Belt.
