                       Appointment of Finance Director


The Board of CPL Resources plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms
Josephine Tierney as Finance Director of the Company with immediate effect.
Ms. Tierney who joined the Company earlier this year, has been Finance
Director Designate until now. Ms Tierney qualified as a Chartered Accountant
with Arthur Andersen, and prior to joining CPL worked for Fyffes plc.

Ms Tierney was a director of a number of subsidiaries of Fyffes plc. She has
not been a partner in a firm in the last five years. No information is
required to be disclosed in respect of Ms Tierney pursuant to 6F2(b)-(g) of
the Listing Rules.
