Alliance Trust PLC's issued share capital as at 30 June 2012 consists of 562,976,146 ordinary shares with voting rights. Alliance Trust PLC does not hold any ordinary shares in treasury.

The above figure 562,976,146 may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the Financial Services Authority's 's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
