Board member announcement
Clarion Housing Group is pleased to announce the appointment of David Lunts as a member of the Group Board and Chair Designate of Latimer Developments with effect from 6th July. He will replace Rupert Sebag-Montefiore as Chair of Latimer Developments, who is stepping down after having joined Clarion in 2017. David will also sit on the Group's Investment Committee.
David brings decades of experience in housing, regeneration and urban development with senior roles across national, regional and local government. He currently serves as Chief Executive of the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation - London's largest new brownfield regeneration initiative - while also being Vice Chair of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation. Prior to these, David held roles at the Greater London Authority, the Homes and Communities Agency and Homes for Londoners.
David has a long-standing commitment to community building having played a key role in delivering major mixed-use developments including Barking Riverside, Silvertown Quays, Greenwich Peninsula and King's Cross.
The announcement comes as Latimer's Cocoa Works regeneration won Property Week's RESI Development of the Year (150-350 homes) Award - a landmark redevelopment of York's historic Rowntree's Factory delivering 279 high-spec apartments of which 30% are affordable homes.
Jock Lennox, Chair of Clarion Housing Group, said:
"We are thrilled to welcome David to the Board and to the role of Chair Designate of Latimer. His deep expertise in regeneration and housing strategy, coupled with his commitment to social purpose, positions him strongly to guide Latimer's continued success. On behalf of the Board, I would also like to thank Rupert Sebag-Montefiore for his outstanding leadership and service to Latimer."
David Lunts added:
"I am delighted to be joining Clarion at a time when the need for high-quality, affordable housing has never been greater. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about affordable housing, sustainability and creating communities that thrive which are values that clearly align with Clarion's mission. I look forward to contributing to the next chapter of Latimer's growth and supporting the Group's ambitious development strategy."
