Accent Group publishes Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report for 2024/25

Accent Group, a national provider and developer of affordable housing, has published its third Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report. The report demonstrates Accent's ongoing commitment to delivering safe, sustainable, and affordable homes, while aligning its work with the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing (SRS).

In 2024/25, Accent made strong progress across all three areas of ESG. More than 85% of its homes now have an EPC rating of C or above, with 72% of new homes built to the highest EPC A standard. The organisation secured £3.6m through the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund to further improve energy efficiency between 2025 and 2028. Rents remained on average 38.3% lower than the private sector, 458 new affordable homes were delivered, and targeted support helped customers secure £43,000 in backdated benefits, over £200,000 in income gains and £42,000 in debt reduction. Accent also retained its top G1/V1 regulatory ratings, reduced its gender pay gap to 8.9%, and continued to invest in colleagues through a newly launched Leadership Academy programme.

Nick Apetroaie, Chief Executive, said:

"Our ESG report shows the difference we are making every day to our customers and beyond. We've made strong progress on energy efficiency, with the majority of our homes now rated EPC C or above, while keeping rents more than a third lower than the private sector. Just as importantly, our teams have supported hundreds of customers through the cost of living, from securing backdated benefits to reducing debts. ESG is not an add-on at Accent, it runs through everything we do, shaping the homes we provide, the support we deliver, and the way we run our organisation. I'm proud of what colleagues have achieved and we remain committed to building on this progress in the years ahead."
