Aberdeen Asian Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC ("the Company")

Issue of Equity

The Company announces the allotment on 8 June 2005 of 100,000 ordinary shares of
25p each under its block listing facility.  The issued share capital is now
28,154,000 ordinary shares.

These shares were issued for cash at a price of 231.00p per share.  The net
asset value per share at the close of business on 7 June 2005 was 226.65p.
