EnergyPathways

Strong gains were seen for the green energy transition company EnergyPathways this morning. That came off the back of news that the government had categorised the company’s MESH energy storage project as being of national significance, a move which should accelerate the planning process. The EnergyPathways share price added 53% off the back of the news in early trade.

GSK

The biopharma company GSK announced this morning that it had appointed a CEO designate to replace Dame Emma Walmsley. The incoming boss is the current CCO at GSK and the news has been well received by the market. Despite the outgoing CEO having a good track record of delivering against guidance, the company is seen as underperforming its peers and sporting lacklustre growth in recent years. The GSK share price was up 3% shortly after the open.

Hochschild

The gold miner Hochschild saw its shares advance in early trade on Monday as underlying precious metals prices moved higher once again. Last week’s muted inflation data from the US is fuelling expectations of further Federal Reserve rate cuts, whilst a funding dispute is pushing the risk of the US government shutting down to the fore. With gold prices now trading above $3800/oz, the Hochschild share price had advanced a further 2% by 8.45am.
