Le CHMP maintient son avis n�gatif concernant l...

Bruxelles, Belgique - le 20 mars 2008 � 17:00 heures CET - UCB vient
d'annoncer que le Comit� des m�dicaments � usage humain (CHMP) a
rejet� l'appel suite au refus, par le CHMP, de la demande de mise sur
le march� (Marketing Authorization Application - MAA) de Cimzia�
(certolizumab pegol) pour le traitement des patients atteints de la
maladie de Crohn, une pathologie inflammatoire chronique et
invalidante. Cette d�cision fait suite � l'appel d�pos� par UCB suite
� l'avis n�gatif rendu par le CHMP en novembre 2007 et ne s'applique
qu'� la demande d'UCB pour Cimzia�  dans le traitement de la maladie
de Crohn au sein de l'Union Europ�enne.

"UCB est d��u de l'avis n�gatif rendu par le CHMP," a d�clar� Olav
Hellebo, Senior Vice President UCB & President Inflammation
Operations. "Cependant, nous sommes satisfaits que la proc�dure
d'appel ait pu r�pondre aux pr�occupations d'innocuit� et de qualit�
�mises par le Comit� en novembre dernier. UCB continue � se consacrer

souffrant de pathologies auto-immunes."
