Monday 5th March 2001

                                PRESS RELEASE

                                 VI GROUP plc

VI Group plc ('VI' or 'the Group'), one of the leading suppliers of CAD/CAM
software to the mould and die sector today announces that its UK subsidiary
has entered into an agreement with Ubiquity Corporation Limited ('Ubiquity')
of Newport, South Wales, to acquire a part of their business which provides
software and systems for the secure electronic transfer of CAD/CAM data ('CAD/
EDI Business') for a total consideration of £200,000 plus £50,000 of
consulting fees to manage the business transfer.

Ubiquity currently provides a range of software from the Hungsberg AG company
in Germany to provide the safe transfer of technical and drawing data
according to the Odette protocol used by most automotive suppliers. The
Ubiquity CAD/EDI business has a 95% UK market share of Odette based system
sales and its customer base of more than 250 clients includes such well known
manufacturing and first tier supplier names such as Toyota, Nissan, Rolls
Royce, Morgan, Lotus, GKN, Lucas, Triplex and Pilkington.

The CAD/EDI business achieved over £400,000 of revenue in the last calendar
year and has a significant element of repeat maintenance contract value in
supporting these vital links between automotive suppliers. The business
represents VI's second acquisition since its flotation on AIM in 1998 and
follows the successful Tecnocam acquisition last year.

Commenting on the announcement, Don Babbs, Chief Executive said;

'The acquisition of the CAD/EDI business from Ubiquity further enhances our
abilities to integrate all areas of the mould and tool design process for the
automotive industry. We see additional expansion opportunities for this
business in the provision of secure data facilities for the lower tier levels
of the supply chain, the readiness of the solution for the arrival of the car
industry standard European Network Exchange (ENX) and overseas selling
opportunities through our existing organisation. There are also significant
cross selling opportunities for our own VISI-Series software solutions within
the higher tier automotive suppliers encompassed by the CAD/EDI business
customer base'.

Roger Moore, Ubiquity's Financial DirectorChief Financial Officer said:

'Since the new business focus following our second round financing last August
we have been seeking a suitable relationship for this non-core business. We
are pleased that VI Group will be able to maintain the support given to our
CAD/EDI customer base in the past and we shall be working toward a seamless
transfer of support responsibilities'.
