Restaurant operator Tasty posted a deeper annual loss as it closed restaurants and said it wouldn't open any more this year. Pre-tax losses for the year through 30 December amounted to £11.8m, compared to losses of £9.5m on-year. Revenue fell 6% to £47.3m. The company did not declare a dividend. 'As highlighted previously, the market conditions for 2018 continued to remain extremely challenging,' chairman Keith Lassman said. 'In addition, unfavourable weather conditions and the World Cup impacted 2018 performance.' 'The challenging conditions continue to affect the casual dining sector as evidenced by the well-publicised closures across the market and on the high street.' 'We have undertaken a full review of our food offering and customer journey and we continue to take steps to ensure our menu remains relevant and we are able to differentiate ourselves from the competition in the sector.' 'The directors believe that the group's brands remain attractive to customers and the group has the right strategic plan in place to ensure future growth.' Story provided by
