ScS Group order intake hurt by hot UK weather

By BFN News | 09:20 AM | Wednesday 08 August, 2018

Furniture and floorings retailer ScS Group said it expected to eke out a 0.2% gain in its annual order intake after adverse weather conditions led to a second-half decline. Like-for-like order intake in the second half of the year through 28 July fell 2.6%, and was hurt by unusually hot weather in June and July, the company said. 'I am pleased to announce that the group has traded in line with the board's expectations for the year, an encouraging result given the challenging retail environment,' chief executive avid Knight said. 'We believe this demonstrates the increasingly resilient nature of our business and the success of our value proposition.' 'We remain focused on continuing to deliver our growth strategy and providing excellent choice, value and quality for our customers.'
