NAV at Baring Emerging Europe slumps 34% in six months

By BFN News | 11:43 AM | Tuesday 20 December, 2011

In the six months from the end of March the net asset value of Baring Emerging Europe has fallen by 34%. This led to an overall fall of 24% for the year ended 30 September 2011. The company says that it has been another year of volatile markets across the world and emerging Europe has not escaped. The company describes the performance as disappointing and all the more so as it represents an underperformance of the company's benchmark. The decline has come against a background of waning economic activity in the developed world and further uncertainty in the state of sovereign debt markets in the eurozone.
