JSG update on chief executive succession

By BFN News | 08:18 AM | Tuesday 05 December, 2017

Johnson Service Group has appointed Peter Egan, currently managing director of its Apparelmaster workwear business, to the board as chief operating officer ahead of assuming the role of chief executive. His transition to COO will take effect from 1 Apr, allowing time for him to handover his current responsibilities. The group said chief executive Chris Sander remained flexible over the date of his retirement and, in that light, has agreed to remain with the group until the end of 2018 to ensure a smooth and effective transition within that period. Chairman Paul Moody said: 'Following Chris' decision to retire, the board is delighted to announce Peter Egan as his successor. 'We anticipate a smooth, well-managed and effective transition process between Chris and Peter during the coming year. 'Peter is an enormously talented leader and this appointment recognises his significant contribution to the development of the Group to date. 'The board is confident in his ability to lead JSG through its next stage of growth as we focus on continuing to build long-term shareholder value." Sander added: 'It has been a great privilege to hold the role of CEO of Johnson Service Group and I am pleased to be handing on the baton to my colleague, Peter Egan, next year. 'Having worked with Peter for almost 20 years, I am certain that the group will continue to go from strength to strength under his leadership and with the wholehearted support of the JSG board, executive team and colleagues.'
