By BFN News | 02:00 PM | Tuesday 19 November, 2019

Paper manufacturer James Cropper posted a 42% rise in first-half profit, partly driven by a softening of pulp prices. Pre-tax profit for the six months through 28 September rose to £2.0m up from £1.4m on-year. Revenue climbed 5% to £52.8m and the company held its dividend steady at 2.5p per share. 'Paper sales are projected to grow year-on-year with the benefits of an improved mix and a softening of pulp price leading to a return to profit,' chairman Mark Cropper said.
