Games Workshop sees first-half profit rising amid higher royalty income

Miniature war games manufacturer Games Workshop said half-yearly profit was expected to be at least £55m as royalty income grew significantly in the period from September to 3 November compared with a year earlier. The company said its preliminary estimates of the results for the six months to 1 December 2019 were sales of not less than £140m and pre-tax profit of not less than £55m. Last year, the company booked a pre-tax profit for the first half of £40.8m and revenue of of £125.2m. The update arrived on the back of ongoing momentum in recent months, with royalty growth driven by the 'timing of guarantee income on signing new licences,' Games Workshop said. Story provided by
