EKF Diagnostics swings to profit as revenue rises, costs fall

Point-of-care group EKF Diagnostics Holdings swung to profit after revenue rose and sales costs fell. Pre-tax profit was £4.3m, compared to a £1.0m loss in 2016, as revenue increased by 8% to £41.6m. The company said it was unable to proceed with a plan to split out its central laboratory business in a tax efficient manner. 'Trading in 2017 has been positive and this has continued into the early part of 2018. We are currently trading in line with management's expectations,' chairman Christopher Mills said.
