Cenkos Securities to appoint Jim Durkin as CEO

Cenkos Securities said Monday Jim Durkin would be appointed as Chief Executive Officer once regulatory approval had been received. Cenkos also announced that Chairman Gerry Aherne would retire from the company with immediate effect. The board was expected to commence the search for a new Chairman, the company said. Jeff Hewitt a Non-executive Director had been appointed as the acting Chairman in the interim period. Anthony Hotson, meanwhile, would remain as the company's Chief Executive Officer during the interim period, Cenkos said. Durkin, a founding shareholder of the company, was formerly Cenkos' Chief Executive Officer in the period December 2011 to July 2017. He resigned as Chief Executive Officer in July 2017. Durkin has had over 30 years' experience in the UK securities industry. During his career he has had substantial experience originating and executing corporate finance transactions across a range of industries including insurance, property, financials and utilities.
